Elder Abuse is reduced through the provision of public education and outreach to identify and prevent elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

Southern Crescent receives and refers complaints regarding elder abuse, neglect and exploitation to the appropriate DHR Division of Aging Services, Adult Protective Services unit.

Provision of community education regarding the identification, prevention and interventions is made available through contracted services with the local Long Term Care Ombudsman Programs in the Southern Crescent region.

Additional information regarding Elder Abuse Prevention can be obtained online through the Elder Abuse Center web page at http://www.elderabusecenter.org or by calling the Southern Crescent Gateway.

Help put an end to elder abuse by reporting suspected abuse, neglect and exploitation.
