What does the Elder Abuse Prevention Program do?
The program provides community education and training sessions designed to help
prevent elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Elder Abuse Prevention Program services are provided in the following counties:
Elder
Abuse is reduced through the provision of public education and
outreach to identify and prevent elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Southern Crescent receives and refers complaints regarding elder abuse, neglect and exploitation to the appropriate DHR Division of Aging Services, Adult Protective Services unit. Provision of community education regarding the identification, prevention and interventions is made available through contracted services with the local Long Term Care Ombudsman Programs in the Southern Crescent region. Help put an end to elder abuse by reporting suspected abuse, neglect and exploitation.
